[Self-introduction]

I was given Christian faith when I was a Tokyo University student in 1964, and since then for more than 40 years I have been living as a Christian. After graduating from the Tokyo University, I have joined NTT and have worked for NTT for 32 years. Most of the time was spent at NTT Laboratories, but for 5 years I served at NTT Headquarters for 5 years as Director of Network Planning Department, where I was involved in the digitalization of NTT networks, the opening up of NTT networks for the interconnection with networks of other carriers. At the same time, I was active in the international standardization of telecom networks for 24 years, serving as Working Party Chairman (1980-1992) and then as Study Group Chairman (1993-2000) .

In 2001, I was appointed as Professor at GITS, Waseda University, where I lecture the subjects of international standardization, info-communication industries and healthcare and welfare information systems.  I am enjoying my current life as university professor.

My hobbies include oratorio music singing.  I serve now as chairman of KAY Choir, where we sang Handle’s Messiah, Bach’s Passion according to Matthew, Passion according to John, B-minor mass, Mozart’s Requiem, Brahms’ German Requiem.  I go to Bible Study Meeting twice a month held at Kunitachi City, western suburb of Tokyo.
