Background: Kano Lab has taken interest, since some years ago, in the
medical and healthcare IT, in particular, open source software for medical
applications. We have been studying in the past few years especially in the
"open EHR (Electronic Health Record)" initiative started in UK and Australia
and now starting used mostly in Europe, and some in US. For openEHR, please

Kano Lab started to take active part in cooperation with medical doctors
through such meetings as Seagaia meeting in Okinawa 2009.

So, Kano Lab has decided to cooperate with Dr. Shinji KOBAYASHI, an internal
medicine doctor, a hematologist at Ehime University in Japan, to serve as
the secretariat of the 8th Medical Open Source Software Symposium to be held
at Waseda as follows:
Date and Time: Saturday, 31st October 2009, from 13:00
Venue: Waseda University, Waseda Campus Building 19 Room 610.
Language: Basically Japanese, except for presentations from Kano Lab members
